Pick two. But seriouly, why must they always be expensive. Why can't I like cheap things. Also why can't I reply to people?

first choice- strong and light. Quality is key and ill pay out.

Second choice, Strong and cheap. Sometimes speed isnt everything. Besides, dat mass rotation, more momentum.

I agree with everything you said. I just hate thinking about a wheel that may break at any moment. The wheels I want are 1lbs lighter(they're 18x8.5 to be ultra grippy and ultra sexy), but they should be strong, but they are expensive. Not Volk expensive, but still.

Buy something quality. And then chose your next step. Would you rather pay out a few more dollars for the wheels than for potential repairs if a wheel failure were to occur. However wheel failure suggests hooning was involved. Think about all the undocumented people running the cheap BBS reps. you hear about them breaking, but i dont hear about it every day.

Buy quality. That way there is peace of mind about a wheel not breaking. I honestly have no concerns of a possible wheel failure, albeit my new wheels are still Honda OEM, but they were used.

Also, think of the wheels as a semi investment. IF you decide you want to sell later on, its better to have bought a better set that will hold or decrease in its value very little, rather than getting one that becomes everyones winter beater wheels at a dime a dozen.

I always hate one thing about wheels though. It seems that the uglier ones tend to be the lightest ones(Enkei rpf1s are a good example). Why can't they make them sexy!!! Volk TE37s are a nice sexy wheel, but I don't feel like paying 4K for a set. I mean seriously. I am sticking with my Gram Lights thank you very much.

Are you thinking about wheels for your Prelude? Cause I say you do it!

I totally agree. I wish the rpf1's just had a little more pizazz. But to get costs down and maximize strength, the design doesnt come out pretty. I guess its logistics. And yeah, im not dropping half of what i paid for my car into wheels. I could go turbo+full motor swap for that kind of cash. Which i wouldnt do anyways...

Im always keeping my eyes open for a 3rd set of wheels. Top contenders right now are the RSX type S wheel.

Kinja'd!!!

But i tend to like the DC5R wheels over those...

Kinja'd!!!

coincidentally that car above is nearly identical to how id like to run mine in summer mode. Minus spoiler.

Kinja'd!!!

Then there are the wheels above, which im in love with as well. My dads M Parallels have gotten me attracted to that look. The pic above is also the way id like my car to be too. That girl has the nicer Type S sideskirts on. But i dont know which wheels she has...

But the killer with all this is finding the correct offset. I dont wanna go far from the stock parameter for fear of the unknown....

I do like those Grams. Id go down an inch in diameter though. They seem borderline stance size. Unless you want to stance a little. Face it, even the way we would set up our cars, would be considered a form of stance haha.

The wheels on the BRZ are 19s, I am going 18s(and 8.5" wide for dat grip). So sadly no hellaflush/donk styling for me, which I am very okay with. They are also going to be black because that adds 10+ hp!

I am in the same situation I am trying to stick with the stock offset as to not ruin anything on the car. And while we may be stancing our cars, it shall be functional. . . I am not sure if stance is hellaflush or something different(cause sometimes I like a stanced car)! Although I am going to have to get coilovers because with a larger wheel the car looks a little strange.

Kinja'd!!!

I really like the second prelude, those wheels look perfect! I would get them in black but then again I like every wheel in black. It would look super nice! What size are you planning on getting?

Oh wow! 19's. my estimate was a bit off. Then 18's would probably look just right if thats the case. Id say were are going to end up stancing our cars. But by no means are we hellaflush. Hellaflush takes stancing beyond what is functional.

The ones in the second picture are wheels from the JDM DC5 integra Type R. 17". and about 10mm offset difference from my current wheels. Thats my only gripe. But then i remember that people are doing much worse to their cars, and they hold up just fine... So theres that.

They come in silver too!

Kinja'd!!!

So many decisions...

Well lowering your car does have its advantages, like lower center of gravity and better handling, but you need stiffer springs and stuff to lower roll(but not to much cause some roll is good!)

As long as the offset is smiliar all around to the manufacture setting it should be good. Like if the offset were the same all around, get 10mm offset all around. Don't know how FWD works, but RWD is that way, and staggering the wheels causes understeer.

Oh yeah, im going to do a bunch more research this winter and hopefully decide on a spring strut combo that will suit my wants and needs for a spring install.

Most FWD cars that i know of have the same offset on each wheel. However, people do reverse stagger. But thats a whole other ball game. But i have a +55mm offset on my stock wheels. Which is actually pretty high compared to a lot of other cars. But thats on a 16". When you move up to 17" at 7" width, the offset needs to drop. And unfortunately the DC5r wheels are +60mm offset... So idk... Ill keep looking around.

What about a 1/2" stagger on yours? Or an inch? It wouldnt change it that much would it?

It is really hard to find a wheel in the perfect offset. For example the ones I want only come in 42mm offset. So that is what I am going to get.

Also the car is pretty neutral with the stock wheel set up which is 17x7 all around. Adding any stagger would probably induce understeer. I know some people put 1" wider at the rear, but got understeer. Don't know about 0.5" though.

Also, try seeing if the "anti" stagger helps make your car more neutral in handling. It can really help when doing enthusiastic driving.
